Born in 1936, Ramananda Bandopadhyay, is one of the artists of contemporary fine arts. Although a painter, his excellence in works of art such as sculpture, bas-relief, graphic art, temple architecture & design etc. is immense. His writings and speeches also fascinate his readers and audience alike. As a student of Santiniketan Kala Bhavana, he took lessons from artist Nandalal Bose and had grown up in a family having influence of Sri Ramakrishna's spiritual thoughts. His deep personal understanding revolved around Nandalal's philosophy of art coupled with Sri Ramakrishna's philosophy of spirituality which helped in forming his life and career as a creative person.
